A significant aspect of our work involves independently investigating fires on behalf of insurance companies. Typically our findings are then used for the purposes of validating or rejecting an insurance claim.
In many cases a fire damaged building or vehicle is accompanied by a legitimate insurance claim. However, insurance companies have found that it is increasingly desirable for suspicious claims to be fully investigated so the true cause (or other influences) can be established.
Some of our findings have:
- Established that the asset was intentionally set on fire.
- Shown that the cause was associated with non-compliance of a policy warranty.
- Identified routes for a recovery of outlay against a third party.
- Highlighted component faults that may have caused the fire.
- Established that the cause of the fire was not covered by the policy.
- Determined that the cause was the responsibility of others, such as the lessor.
- Identified that the item was modified which in turn caused the fire.
- Shown that the cause was associated with inadequate maintenance, contrary to the terms of the policy.
We are well experienced with all these situations; our work is always independent, thorough and fully documented.
