Structural and Building Fire Investigation
Buildings contain materials, machinery and appliances that could be the cause of a fire. In addition, the specific cause of the fire could relate not only to faulty equipment, but to poor workmanship, maintenance, or neglect on the part of the building owner. Hannaford Forensic independently establishes the cause of a fire, as well as why fire spread may be associated with building design or construction where this becomes an issue. Comparison can also be made, for instance, between actual stored commodities/storage methods and insurer’s warranties or risk assessments.
Plant & Machinery Fire Investigation
Fire damage to plant and machinery (e.g. construction, industrial or agricultural equipment) can be significant and the potential cost to the owner or insurer can be very high. We establish the source of the fire damage and investigate the likely causes so both owner and insurer can assess the issues of liability and take the necessary steps in replacement and future prevention. We can also advise on correct usage/maintenance issues, and compliance with policy warranties.
Vehicle Fire Investigation
Hannaford Forensic are renowned for their capability in this field. The process of forensically examining a vehicle includes interviewing the vehicle owner/operator, conducting a detailed examination of the vehicle, cross-checking the nature of the damage with known component faults and documenting all findings in a detailed report. We also maintain a database of the hundreds of vehicle/plant fires we attend every year, so that we can identify a trend as soon as it starts, which is especially useful for large fleet operators. No one knows vehicle fires better than we do.
