How We Work

Our clients are leading insurance companies, P&I Clubs, loss adjusters and legal firms in the UK and worldwide.  We therefore always ensure that our work is conducted in a highly professional, structured and detailed manner.

Once we are notified of a fire that requires investigating, we will assign the most appropriate fire investigator.  This fire investigator will lead the investigation and oversee all aspects of the forensic work and the subsequent report that is issued to the client.  This means the client has a single point of contact if required.

When physical evidence exists (e.g. fire-damaged building, ship or vehicle), the fire investigator will be on the scene rapidly to conduct a detailed forensic examination and establish witness evidence.  This process includes surveying the scene and its components and, where appropriate, disassembling key elements of the scene and ensuring there is a photographic catalogue of all aspects.

Both during and immediately after the on-site examination, the investigator will keep the client updated with findings and recommendations where appropriate.  Once the on-site investigation is complete, the fire investigator will create a detailed report including forensic findings, photography and recommendations for any further tests, inspections or enquiries.

With ship cargo problems, a suitable expert with provide urgent advice as to the best way to progress matters, and whether a site visit is desirable or if the matter can be conducted on a ‘desk-top’ basis.

In some cases our work is used as evidence in court. Therefore, in every case, we conduct our investigation to a standard that can be relied upon if scrutinised by an opposing legal team.
