This code is a summary of the detailed Hannaford Forensic Code of Service that all our forensic scientists and fire investigators will adhere to:
Item 1
The Hannaford Forensic investigator will hold a high standard of technical knowledge and be considered an expert in their field.
Item 2
The Hannaford Forensic investigator will not do anything in the course of practising as an investigator, which compromises or impairs any of the following:
- Their independence, impartiality, objectivity and integrity,
- Their high standard of work,
- Their duty to maintain confidentiality.
Item 3
Hannaford Forensic will acknowledge all new case instructions with the client. Before they are accepted, we will check that there is no actual or potential conflict of interest.
Item 4
Hannaford Forensic will, in normal circumstances, attend on site (where a site inspection is required) within 24hrs of instruction. An assessment of urgency will be agreed at the time of instruction.
Item 5
Hannaford Forensic will provide a telephone or email update within 24hrs (usually the same day as the site inspection, or next working day latest).
Item 6
Hannaford Forensic will provide a written report with photographs within 7 working days of the site inspection unless agreed otherwise.
Item 7
We will not conduct further chargeable work on a case without the client’s explicit prior agreement.
Item 8
Hannaford Forensic shall, for the protection of the client, maintain with a reputable insurer adequate Professional Indemnity Insurance.
